Dawn Frank, DVM
Dr. Dawn Frank is a 1982 graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. From 1982 until 1989 she worked as a veterinarian in a mixed animal practice in Wakarusa, Indiana, and later in the Community Service Practice at Purdue University, where she restarted the equine ambulatory program. In 1990 Dr. Frank opened a solo practice in her home in Brookston, Indiana. The practice moved to its current location in Delphi two years later. From 1992 until 2010 she served as the secretary for the Indiana Association of Equine Practitioners. Dr. Frank is currently serving as the Vice-Chairman for the Indiana Veterinary Licensing Board. She also serves as an advisor for the Indiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Lab and the Purdue Department of Animal Science. In her spare time, Dr. Frank enjoys golfing with her husband David Schneider, a teacher at Klondike Middle School. She also enjoys reading, puttering around in the garden and being mentored by their dog and horses. She feels blessed to be a member of a profession that according to Dr. James Herriot allows her to “match the science with the soul.”

Susan Stuart, DVM
Dr. Stuart is a 1991 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Stuart practiced feline medicine exclusively for the first two and a half years following her graduation. Since 1993 she has been mainly interested in small animal emergency medicine and critical care. Beyond veterinary medicine, Dr. Stuart likes spending time with her four children and husband, Dr. Jan Hawkins, a large animal surgeon at Purdue Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Stuart’s family also includes a cow, two donkeys, a horse, four cats, six dogs, and a barn full of bunnies. In addition she likes to travel, tend to her garden, and work on her scrapbooks.

John Pickett, DVM
Dr. Pickett is a 1969 graduate of Purdue’s School of Veterinary Medicine and has spent the last 40 years in small animal practice. He was a partner and medical director of a multi-doctor practice, and now enjoys working part-time with Horizon Veterinary Service. He loves spending time with his wife Ann, their children and grandchildren. He has two Australian Cattle Dogs who will herd anything including people. He is an enthusiastic gardener and values any time he can spend in the woods and fields.

Dr. Okos graduated from Veterinary School at Purdue University in 2005. She spent her first year after graduation working with both large and small animals at a mixed animal practice in Rockville, Indiana. She then moved to Southern California to work in the medical device industry at a cardiac/critical care company. While in California Dr. Okos continued to work at various small animal clinics on the weekends and then transitioned back to full time traditional veterinary practice. In 2010 Dr. Okos moved back to her hometown in Indiana. Today, in addition to working at Horizon Veterinary Service, she also fills in at several veterinary clinics around the area. Dr. Okos has a special interest in ultrasound and enjoys using this tool to help diagnose cases. In her free time she spends time with her dog, Diesel, and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities.
