Katie's interest in veterinary medicine began at a young age. She grew up on a farm in the Battle Ground area where she cared for horses,
beef cattle, dogs, chickens, and pheasant. Katie joined Horizon Veterinary Service in 2001 while still in high school. She started as a kennel assistant and gradually progressed until she became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2009. Katie enjoys
traveling,outdoor activities, and spending time with her family and friends. The family pets are cat, guinea pig and a rabbit.She is married to Jessie and they have three young sons (her pride & joy) Zen, Leland and Kyler).
Shanna Rayburn, BS, RVT, KPA-CTP
Shanna graduated from Purdue University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology, Animal Trainer Course through the Karen Pryor Academy. Her love for animals has been life long. Shanna has two pets, a cat "Tiger" and her canine side-kick "Cinder". When not involved with her animal work she likes crafting, reading and spending time with her family.
Hayley Blignaut - Registration Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Hayley grew up around Lafayette, Indiana (Go Boilers!) Graduated from the Veterinary Technician Institute at International Business College Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her love of animals drew her to volunteer many hours and work at the on-site kennel as kennel leader. Work brought Hayley back to the Lafayette area. Of course she has a few fur babies of her own; two kitties "Chester" and "Moose", two dogs "Retch and "Kona" (full of vim and vigor.) Hayley when not at HVS enjoys spending time with her new husband "Justin", running, playing her ukelele and spending time with her family and friends. She has worked for Horizon Veterinary Service since January 2015 and says it's been a true blessing to be working with this team.
Alanna Hamlton (clinic assistant) a Carroll high school senior planning to attend Purdue University the Fall of 2018. She will
study Biochemistry before continuing on to Veterinary School. Alanna has volunteered at Horizon throughtout 2016 and has been employed since February of 2017. Her love of animals is shown through her devotion to the many pets, wildlife and barnyard animals she has cared for. These include her best pal "Mavis" and Akita mix, her three cats "Annabelle, "Esther", "Eugene and a variety of poultry.

Hospital and Kennel Assistants
Betty Hickner has been with Horizon Veterinary Service since 1999 and has been an animal lover all her life. Betty is a wearer of many hats at Horizon serving as support staff with puppy deliveries, maintenance, housekeeping and kennel care. She especially enjoys the kennel care. Betty grew up on a farm in Warren County, and loves to work with all creatures great and small. Betty has two married children and nine grandchildren and a rambunctious boxer "Abby".
Chenoa Nethercutt - Chenoa grew up on a small horse farm in Indiana. She has owned and enjoyed animals all her life; so much so her room at home was like a mini zoo. Her favorite times were spent outside with the horses and especially her favorite horse "Dandy". Chenoa is a veteran of the Armed Forces. She served in Iraq in 2007 and 2008. 008. Entering in as a Food Service Specialist and trained and served in the Military Police (MP). A graduate of The Art Institute of Indianapolis with a B.S. in Media Arts and Animation. Chenoa enjoys playing ball with her beloved 3 dogs and kayaking down the Tippecanoe river with her better half Kathy.
